Fit 4 Mom
Stroller Strides 

Stroller Strides is a stroller-based fitness program designed for moms (and dads) with little ones. Each 60 minute, total body workout incorporates power walking, strength, toning, songs and activities. Classes will be led by a certified fitness instructor. Meet Tuesdays and Fridays, 9:30-10:30 am outside Friendship Park when the weather is nice or indoors at the Orion Center during the winter months. Native American Flute Circle
Bring your flute a friend, and join us in a facilitated flute circle.  Share rhythm in a fun, family friendly setting.  Participants take turns playing both solo and together in a unique event created by the participants.  Flute Circle is not instructional.  All levels of play are welcome.

Class Instructors Wanted
Do you have a special talent or skill and are looking to teach a class? Then the staff at the Orion Center wants you! We are always looking for new and exciting programs to offer to the residents of the Orion Township and surrounding communities. Take advantage of one of the beautiful rooms that the Orion Center or Friendship Park has to offer. Work with one of our Recreation Program Supervisors to create a new class offering and earn some extra cash. Call the Orion Center at 248-391-0304 ext. 3500 for additional information.
TaikoFit Cardio Drumming

TaikoFit is a 60 minute drumming fitness class. Taiko is Japanese drumming. Japanese drumming uses big drums, big sticks and big moves. Combine the Taiko drumming style with high energy music and cardio and you have a really fun workout that reduces stress and is good for your mind, body and soul. No drumming experience is necessary. Drums and sticks provided. This class is taught by Cindi Carter who is affiliated with the Great Lakes Taiko Center in Novi. Free trail class on June 14 & 15, register by calling 248.391.0304 x3500

Fit4Baby is a program designed to strengthen the body for all the changes it will experience during pregnancy. The class includes cardio, strength, flexibility and balance training. Oakland Minor Home Repair Program

This Oakland County Program has assistance for home repairs to those who quality. Please call (248) 858-5401 for more information. This program is designed to help low income households to complete repairs of no more than $5,000 to a single unit residence. The repairs can include replacing furnaces, water heaters, roofs and other minor repairs. To qualify, you must be a resident of Oakland County. You must be 62 years of age or older, Disabled Adults 18 or older and/or low income and owners of homes in need of repair. (Disability documents are required).

Michigan Concealed Pistol License Class (CPL)

This is a minimum of an eight-hour course with a minimum of 5 hours in the classroom and another 3 hours of shooting instruction at a local range. Students should expect to shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn basic defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development. This course is for law-abiding adult citizens that are experienced shooters. This course satisfies the requirement for training to apply for the Michigan Concealed Pistol License. Class time is held from 9:00 am-3:00 pm at Camp Agawam in Orion Township, Range time is held from 10:00 am-1:00 pm at Williams Indoor Range in Davison. Both classes must be attended. PreRequisite: Students must have basic knowledge of their firearm and be proficient in operating their firearm.

Women's Only Learn & Play Golf

Ladies, learn to play golf in a relaxed outdoor environment from golf instructor Mark Vagi. Each week includes a 30 minute group lesson covering putting, pitching and chipping instruction, full swing instruction with irons and woods. Nine holes of golf also included weekly. Build personal and business relationships and get exercise in the great outdoors. Join individually or with a group of friends or co-workers. Space is limited to 14 players. Any weeks rained  out will extend the program by one week.

Adult Golf Lessons

Lessons with Mulberry Hills will review and improve existing skills, introduce variations of the golf swing, shot techniques and implement aspects of gold course management. Students will be approached as if they have some experience and some grasp of golfing fundamentals. Group sessions will have a minimum of six participants and a maximum of ten. Because golf is a great family and social sport, we encourage families, couples, friends, co-workers, and neighbors to attend together. Participants in group lessons will be able to play Mulberry Hills Golf Club at a discounted rate during specified times throughout the season.

Start your Orion Better Life Challenge at the Orion Center. pick up your game card and instructions at the Orion Center front desk. Complete your punch card and enter to win a Grand Prize.  

Exercise:    Walking Club, Polly Ann Trail, Enrichment Classes, Exercise Room, take your dog to the Dog Park, walk at Camp Agawam, or join in at the Slow Row LO. 
Enrichment:   Classes at the Orion Center or at ONTV, Wildwood or Camp Agawam Concert series, take a Mahjong class or join in on a Card class.
Healthy Living:   Attend a Beaumont movie, find some healthy menus, take an Advance Stability or Matter of Balance class, and get your Blood Pressure taken.
Library:   Check out a great new book from Mary at the Orion Center Library, take a Computer Class from Dr. Bob, learn some fun facts on the Library's Computer, join a Book Club, come to a Community Conversation Day, join in on Children's Book Week or take a One-on-One Technology Help class.

ONTV Video Production Classes

Have you ever wondered about how to make a studio television show? Join ONTV at these unique classes and you will learn how to operate cameras, learn audio techniques, and perform as Director. Reminiscence Therapy
